Waste & Recycling
Waste and recycling in Linton is organised and carried out by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Linton operates on an alternating rubbish and recycling schedule, with the appropriate bins being collected every Monday. Every property should have two wheeled bins, one green and one black, and a green box.
The green bin is for compostable waste and the black bin is for non-compostable and non-recyclable waste. One week your black bins will be collected, and your green bin and recycling box will be taken the following week.
There is a recycling centre in the Health Centre car park on Coles Lane, where you can recycle paper, glass, plastics, cans and textiles.
Bins must be left close to the road at the edge of your property, or at an agreed collection point, by 7am on the day of collection. Bins will be collected between 7am and 6pm.
Bin lids must be fully closed, and all waste must be inside the bin: waste left beside the bin will not be collected. This is because it is unsafe for the refuse collectors to lift rubbish over the higher backs of the new vehicles.
